Adaptive delayed channel access for IEEE 802.11n WLANs

Abstract— In this paper we investigate potential benefits that an adaptive delayed channel access algorithm can attain for the next-generation wireless LANs, the IEEE 802.11n. We show that the performance of frame aggregation introduced by the 802.11n adheres due to the priority mechanism of the legacy 802.11e EDCA scheduler, resulting in a poor overall performance. Because high priority flows have low channel utilization, the low priority flows throughputs can be amerced further. By introducing an additional delay at the MAC layer, before the channel access scheduling, it will retain aggregate sizes at higher numbers and consequently a better channel utilization. Also, in order to support both UDP and TCP transport layer protocols, the algorithm’s operational conditions are kept adaptive. The simulation results demonstrate that our proposed adaptive delayed channel access outperforms significantly the current 802.11n specification and non-adaptive delayed channel access

Spiral Structure in IP Peg: Confronting Theory and Observations

    Get PDF
The first convincing piece of evidence of spiral structure in the accretion disc in IP Pegasi was found by Steeghs et al. (1997). We performed two kinds of 2D hydrodynamic simulations, a SFS finite volume scheme and a SPH scheme, with a mass ratio of 0.5. Both results agreed well with each other. We constructed Doppler maps and line flux-binary phase relations based on density distributions, the results agreeing well with those obtained by observation.Comment: 4 pages, LaTeX with 2 ps figures using crckapb.sty. An extensible product structure model for product lifecycle management in the make-to-order environment

    Get PDF
This paper presents a product structure model with a semantic representation technique that make the product structure extensible for developing product lifecycle management (PLM) systems that is flexible for make-to-order environment. In the make-to-order business context, each product could have a number of variants with slightly different constitutions to fulfill different customer requirements. All the variants of a family have common characteristics and each variant has its specific features. A master-variant pattern is proposed for building the product structure model to explicitly represent common characteristics and specific features of individual variants. The model is capable of enforcing the consistency of a family structure and its variant structure, supporting multiple product views, and facilitating the business processes. A semantic representation technique is developed that enables entity attributes to be defined and entities to be categorized in a neutral and semantic format. As a result, entity attributes and entity categorization can be redefined easily with its configurable capability for different requirements of the PLM systems. An XML-based language is developed for semantically representing entities and entity categories. A prototype as a proof-of-concept system is presented to illustrate the capability of the proposed extensible product structure model

The purpose of this study is to clarify the role of green brand satisfaction in mediating the relationship between green brand experience to the green brand trust. The samples that used were 120 peoples who ghatered with non probability sampling method that purposive sampling form. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires directly and using likert scale. Data analysis technique used are comfirmatori factor analysis, path analysis and sobel test. From the analysis showed that green brand experience and green brand satisfaction ware have significant and positif affect on green brand trust. Green brand experience has significant and positf affect on green brand satisfaction. Green brand satisfaction significantly mediates the role between green brand experience to green brand trust. It shows that green brand experience as the main factor that must be caring. It's importance for the producens to gives good brand experience to their consumers so they can build strong consumers trust on a brand. The purpose of this study is to clarify the role of green brand satisfaction in mediating the relationship between green brand experience to the green brand trust.
